What is Dermaplaning?
Dermaplaning is a noninvasive skin care procedure that exfoliates the top layers of the skin through the use of a blade or scalpel. The procedure helps remove fine wrinkles and reduces the appearance of deep, pitted acne scars, resulting in a smoother and more even complexion. As a side benefit, the treatment removes facial hair.
Dermaplaning can be used for any skin type and acne scars, dull skin, dry skin, sun-damaged skin, or fine wrinkles. You may want to add a chemical peel to your dermaplaning treatment, when your skin is able to deeply absorb and benefit from the peel.
The dermaplaning experience is more clinical than a spa facial, but it is still very relaxing, with little to no discomfort with this treatment. The dermaplaning takes about 30 minutes. There is no downtime so you may even be able to fit it in during your lunch break. You will need to be careful about sun exposure and we recommend that you use sunscreen daily after dermaplaning.
